RESTORATION OF AN ALZER LOUIS VUITTON SUITCASE

The Alzer suitcase is an iconic and memorable model from Maison Louis Vuitton. It is also the most famous luxury suitcase that has seduced travelers around the world, by its design directly inspired by the brand's historic monogrammed trunks and by its robustness, but also by its media exposure.

It is found in a multitude of films. Not a week goes by without the  celebrity press exposing them. Many celebrities are photographed during their travels with this model Alzer, which contributes a little more to building the legend of this baggage intended for modern life . Unlike the trunk, the suitcase is accepted by most airlines as carry-on baggage.

This makes it very practical at a time when the costliest expense is wasting time. Available in several lengths , from 40 to 80 cm, it is the heritage of the know-how of travel trunks, its main characteristics are:

We received this Louis Vuitton suitcase, which is around thirty years old , Alzer 65 cm model, PVC coated canvas, displayed today in the Louis Vuitton 2021 catalog at a price of 7,300 euros.

Without taking into account the value of this luggage, the former owner had unfortunately left it  in the humidity . A verdigris oxidation had formed on the surface of the brass and the leather of the handle was eaten away and brittle ...
